Turn Learning Struggles Into Learning Victories

This site was started by a mom who was looking for a way to help her kids in school.

I am that mom!

Don't worry, learning more about, learning doesn't have to be scary! I promise you this won't hurt. And you will even have fun!!

What is Study Skills For All Ages About?

To empower students and parents by providing effective methods of gathering, reviewing and retaining information. Once you understand how to take information and put it into a format that works for your learning style, you will be able to turn learning struggles into learning victories.

Why "For All Ages"? study skills

Because learning can be a struggle for all age groups. My daughter went to college with very poor study skills. In fact, I would venture to guess that most college-bound students do not have the types of skills they need to study and succeed at a university level.

Study skills is something that is rarely taught in high school. And the chances of these skills being taught in the primary grades, is just about zero.

So, that is why this site if "For All Ages". We can help the College student as well as a 1st, 5th, 8th or 10th grader.

This site was birthed from the experiences I had with my own children and their struggles in school. For years I watched both my kids struggle with certain concepts in school. Until an educational consultant told me that both my kids are right brainers and would learn best through pictures.

And I have to tell you that saying "right brainers" learn with pictures is really simplifying things!!

As I started to investigate this concept, I realized how hard my kids had been working to understand concepts that are traditionally taught in what I call the "left brained way".

There is so much more to it. We really had to change our approach to school. And we have an advantage in being able to change school because we homeschool our kids. But don't worry, you don't have to homeschool to be able to help your child if you discover they are right-brained. All these concepts can be used with any child no matter where they go to school.
